Communication and self-awareness

Knowing yourself, communicating better, standing your ground

The long format, with a third day a few weeks later. Three days to place your profile, understand what is triggered under pressure, and hold your position without attacking or giving in, once the tools have been tested against real situations.

What this training gives you

Understanding your personality and the way you communicate is the foundation of personal development: it is what lets you adapt to someone who works differently without playing a part.

Three days built on the Enneagram, the third one held a few weeks after the first two.

Holding your position in a small world

Assertiveness is not taught the same way in an island economy as in a large market. Here, the person you stand up to will be at the same wedding, and a supplier is often a colleague’s cousin.

The work therefore focuses on saying the difficult thing while leaving the relationship intact, because the relationship is not optional.

Questions about this training

Why is the third day held later?

Because the first two days hand over tools whose difficulty only appears in use. A gap of a few weeks lets participants try them, fail with some, and come back with real cases. A third consecutive day would stack theory on theory.

Is this a personality test?

No. The Enneagram is used here as a working model of nine motivations and of what each one does under pressure, not as a label. Nobody leaves with a number to wear.

What does holding your position mean in practice?

Saying no without attacking, keeping a position when it is pushed, and responding to aggression without absorbing it or sending it back. These are the situations the role plays are built from.

Why is it particularly requested in Mauritius?

Because open disagreement is rarely practised and the person you say no to is often part of the same circle outside work. Participants regularly say that the hard part is not the conversation, but the fact that it does not end when the working day does.
